Reading, studying or teaching the Bible is one of the most rewarding endeavors we can undertake. Much has been said about the richness and depth of God's written word. Each of us who have studied it, however, has experienced the difficulty of keeping track of it many facets and placing them in perspective with the Bible as a whole. In fact, the Bible is not one book, but 66 books. It contains 1189 chapters and 31,173 verses. Over 40 different people were moved by God's spirit to write it covering a period of more than 1500 years. The scope of its subject matter is almost limitless. Losing
sight of how one part of the Bible relates to another, or to the whole,
can detract from the understanding and rewards that the word provides.
A "blueprint" which enables one to continually keep the
part being studied within the framework of the whole is the primary
concept behind The Bible Overview Chart. When used as a companion
learning aid to the Bible and other primary materials, it greatly
enhances understanding and retention of the concepts, passages and
chapters being studied or read.
